If there is one thing the Turkish TV folks are known for and pretty good at – it is that they take what some many already regard as classics, reimagine them and make them just as good, sometimes even better.
The latest addition on the trail of remakes Şahin Tepesi. If you are a fan of Hollywood classics and you know your soap operas like the back of your hand, googling the title of this remake alone tells you exactly what it is based on.
For those of you who don't know, Şahin Tepesi translates literally to 'Falcon Crest.' Back in the day, Falcon Crest was one of the highly-rated and critically acclaimed shows on TV in America. The success of the show span across the globe, with it winning multiple awards along the way. It is no surprise that the powers that be have chosen to remake this one.
Falcon Crest (the original), revolved around the feuding factions between two wealthy families in the Californian wine industry. The primetime television soap opera aired from December 4, 1981 to May 17, 1990, with a total of 227 episodes produced.
Though we do not have an exact launch date, we know that Şahin Tepesi will air on aTV. More importantly, it is being produced by the ever-incredible Ay Yapim (Kara Sevda, Ufak Tefek Cinayetler, Çukur, etc.). The dizi will star some familiar faces – the likes of Zerrin Tekindor (Kara Sevda), Boran Kuzum (Vatanim Sensin), Aybüke Pusat (Söz), and more.
